OCLT selected to participate in Oxford University's “Science Together: Oxford Researchers and Communities” programme
This academic year, OCLT is one of eight community organisations selected to participate in the Science Together programme run by Oxford University. Science Together matches community organisations with researchers from Oxford's two universities to work on a research project defined by the community partner. The research project will have practical outcomes that address particular challenges or opportunities that the community partner – in this case, OCLT – has identified for people who live and work in Oxfordshire.
The research project we're going to collaborate on will be defined more clearly through conversations taking place over the next few months. But it's likely to focus on how OCLT can use more local, natural materials in its projects, and by doing so help lead the transition to a fairer, more sustainable construction economy.
OCLT’s coordinator Josh and volunteer Inés attended the first Science Together onboarding session on October 21st at the Old Fire Station. It was a chance for OCLT to present its project ideas and hear more about the other truly inspiring work that community groups are doing across the county.
