Create Streets Talk

Wed, 13 Nov

|

Oxford

Time & Location

13 Nov 2024, 17:30 – 18:30

Oxford, 21 Park End St, Oxford OX1 1HU, UK

About the event

This talk, hosted by Oxfordshire Community Land Trust, will focus on how we can create the homes we need by adopting a place-based approach. We'll hear about how attending to the balance and beauty of places, and taking community engagement seriously, can create healthier, more prosperous and more sustainable places for us all – and in doing so help address the housing crisis. And we'll hear more about the influential concept of ‘gentle density’, which Create Streets has pioneered in the UK, taking it to the heart of government and national planning policy.

The talk will be given by Create Streets' Senior Architectural Designer, Robert Kwolek, and its Managing Director, David Milner. Prior to the talk, David and Robert will be delivering a course on Design Coding for Sustainable Development at Oxford's Department for Continuing Education.

The venue is wheelchair accessible.
